Experience

I am a recently graduated (Masters) Oxford Maths and Philosophy Student, obtaining 1st Class Honours, and I achieved 5A*s in my A-Levels, 12 9s in my GCSEs, and was ranked top 50 in the British Mathematical Olympiad 2 years in a row.

I am interested in being a tutor because I am passionate about spreading my love of academia, and sparking an interest in the topics I myself am interested in. Having had previous experience in education, in both one-to-one personal tutoring and teaching in a structured class environment, I am certain this is my career path of choice, and this would be the perfect opportunity to further my career goals. I have taught at Akshar Foundation, an Indian Teaching NGO, for underprivileged students, to A-Level Standard, and WILS Language School, a Korean Hagwon, for Oxbridge entry, having taught A-Level Maths/English/Physics and further computational courses. I have also done, over the past 4 years, individual sessions for mathematical Olympiad students and for Oxbridge entry, and helped students achieve success.

Furthering my student’s academic paths means a lot to me -my teaching style is hands-on. I believe it is impossible to learn without doing the problems yourself, I like to prepare questions (of varying difficulties) before the lesson, and guide the student through until they are confident enough to handle the problems without assistance. Learning anything is done by doing, not reading, and my lessons reflect that.

Subjects I can teach:

  • Maths: Up to 2nd year of university (can tutor GCSE/A-Level/Olympiad Mathematics)
  • Philosophy: GCSE/A-Level/Early Undergrad
  • Physics: GCSE/A-Level
  • English: Up to A-Level
  • VR/NVR: All-Levels

Can help with Oxbridge Admissions, personal statements, and entrance exams, especially for maths, physics and philosophy
