Hello! I’m Tom, a First-Class Engineering Science graduate from the University of Oxford and now a PhD student in robotics at Imperial College London. My research focuses on distributed computing and computer vision, but my real passion is helping students unlock their academic potential.
I’ve worked with learners from GCSE through to university level, specialising in Maths and Physics for university admissions. My professional background includes three years in management consulting, a year in high-tech defence operations, and managing a neurotechnology research programme — experiences that have honed my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and logically.
My tutoring style is supportive but stretching: I want students to feel challenged, confident, and curious. Whether it’s building solid foundations in tricky topics, tackling Olympiad-style questions, or preparing for Oxbridge interviews, I tailor each session to the student’s goals and learning style.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy running, sailing, and just about anything outdoors - I was an avid rower growing up, and that's manifested into enjoying anything water and exercise-related!
